Certificate Programs

 

Industrial Forestry

The School of Forest Resources and Enviromental Science (SFRES) and the School of Business and Economics (SBE) jointly award a Certificate in Industrial Forestry. Business students can use the certificate to obtain a working knowledge of the forestry and wood products industries. SFRES students can use the certificate to obtain a working knowledge of business and management.

Objectives of the Industrial Forestry Certificate Program
  1. Certificate holders are expected to have a working knowledge of accounting principles, project management, economics, and finance.
  2. Certificate holders are expected to have a working knowledge of forest resources, vegetation in North America, wood properties, and the functions at wood processing facilities.

International Business

This certificate program is intended for business majors and dual degree students in business who are interested in pursuing a career related to international business. The program requires one year of foreign language study and at least six of the total 24 credits in the certificate program must be earned in a study abroad program.

Objectives of the International Business Certificate Program
  1. Holders of this certificate are expected to have and understanding of international economics, global finance, and communicating and managing in an international setting.
  2. Holders of this certificate will also gain an appreciation of the international environment by successfully completing 4 courses related to international politics, history, peoples and cultures of the world, and/or international laws.
