The Second Degree program enables students who have earned or are earning a bachelor degree in a non-business discipline to earn a second bachelor degree in Business. The business degree complements the primary degree by establishing a firm foundation in the principles of business, including accounting, marketing, finance and management.
Students who enjoy working with others, want to become leaders and managers in their primary field of study, or are ready for the challenge of entrepreneurship and commercializing technological innovation should consider earning a Second Degree in Business. The Second degree will significantly enhance graduates' marketability to employers by identifying them as ready for leadership and management positions, enabling graduates to move into positions of increased responsibility more rapidly. It will also give young entrepreneurs in technology fields the confidence to develop start-up businesses.
The Second Degree programs consists of 59 credits of undergraduate coursework. Courses include Accounting, Information Systems, Business Law, Management, Marketing, and Strategy. While some of the courses can be counted toward the student's first degree, at least 32 credit hours of coursework for the Second Degree cannot be counted toward the first degree.
