This program prepares students for certification as secondary school economics teachers in the State of Michigan. Students complete requirements similar to those of the BS in Economics (SS2100, SS2500 and SS2600 substitute for some economics electives and EC3100 and EC3300 are required) and simultaneously complete additional courses in education and in a teaching minor to qualify for certification. Students should plan an additional semester or two of study beyond the BSBA. Double-counting of general education, cognate, and teaching minor courses can reduce the number of credits required for certification. Students in this program must maintain a departmental GPA of 2.75 and a cumulative GPA of 2.50.
