Alternative Spring Break

Alternative Spring Break exists to promote service learning, social justice, and community building to Michigan Tech students through participation in experiential learning opportunities via an alternative break. Through Alternative Breaks, students have the opportunity to develop into life-long active citizens in local, national and global communities through diverse, direct-service experiences dedicated to social justice.

ASB 2018

In March 2018, Michigan Tech will partner with Serve901 in Memphis, TN to combat specific social issues. The trip will be comprised of 18 students, including a staff advisor. If students have any interest in attending, they will need to apply. Applying does not commit a student to attend. Once considerations are made, students are offered the opportunity and have the choice to accept or deny. If accepted, students must pay a $200 deposit to secure their spot. The entire deposit will be refunded shortly before the trip departs. All other expenses are covered.

Applications are now open until January 24, 2018. There will be priority consideration for those that apply before December 8, 2017. Any remaining spots will be filled after the application deadline.
